The city centre around Karl Johans gate
This pedestrian precinct offers international chains like H&M, Benetton and Zara. This area also houses several large shopping centres and department stores, such as Oslo City, Byporten, Glasmagasinet, Steen & Strøm, Paléet and Aker Brygge.
The exclusive Louis Vuitton store is located in the street Akersgata, next door to Norwegian fashion design favourites Moods of Norway.
Also in the city centre, you will find House of Oslo, with over 20 shops specialising in interior design and lifestyle. The street Møllergata is the place for furniture shopping, while the Grensen area offers a good selection of shoes.
Majorstuen - the streets Bogstadveien and Hegdehaugsveien
Here you will find a good mix of exclusive clothing brands and good value. Shops like Zara, H&M and Vero Moda offer good value on the latest trends, and you will also find several high-end fashion stores here.
Frogner and Bygdøy Allé
A number of interior design and antique shops are found here. The area also has lots of small, independent and exclusive shops offering everything from underwear to kitchen utensils. Just down the road at Skøyen, you will find several popular furniture and interior design shops.
Grünerløkka
Located on the east side of the Akerselva River, this is the place to look for young, Norwegian designers. Small independent shops offering clothes, furniture, pottery and handicrafts line the streets, along with pubs, bars and restaurants.
Grønland
Many of the shops here are run by immigrants, who offer a good selection of fruits, vegetables and spices. You can also get bargains on exotic textiles and gold here.
