Cross-country skiing

The distance to and from Norway's main airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen, is only two hours by car to two of the most popular cross-country skiing areas in the vicinity of Lillehammer - Nordseter and Sjusjøen.

Nordseter and Sjusjøen were originally mountain farm communities, which - with their easily accessible forest and mountain terrain - have developed into two of Northern Europe's best cross-country skiing destinations. The mountains here are 850 metres above sea level and lie only 15 - 20 kilometres from the centre of Lillehammer.

Both areas offer a wide range of skiing alternatives, including approximately 350 kilometres of prepared cross-country trails. The tracks run all the way to Lillehammer and Øyer, and even connect up with the Olympic tracks at the Birkebeineren Ski Stadium. You can ski in both forested and mountain terrain, and all the trails are clearly signposted.

Alpine and snowboard

The wide variety of alpine slopes at Hafjell provide a diverse range of skiing challenges. The alpine facility is not about crisscrossing slopes, but about long and fast continuous runs. Due to the advanced and comprehensive on-site snow-making facilities, Hafjell is a resort with reliable snow and skiing conditions throughout the entire winter ski season. All the slopes at the resort lead to the same final destination at the bottom of the hill - simple and easy.

Sjusjøen is more than cross-country skiing. Alpine skiing is made possible at Sjusjøen Ski Centre where four lifts and nine runs on the sunny hill make the destination complete. The high altitude and the location are in favour of early and fluffy snow.
