Lillehammer is located off the E6 highway, which is the major travel artery from south to north in Norway.

By car

Lillehammer is 2 hours and 30 minutes from Oslo, five hours from Trondheim and five hours from Ålesund

By plane

If you are arriving by plane, just take the bus or train from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to Lillehammer.

By public transport

Buses leave the town centre about every 30 minutes to most of the local attractions in the area, and there are frequent train departures to both Oslo and Trondheim. Rail services run 12 to 18 times daily between Lillehammer and Oslo and 4 to 6 times daily to/from Trondheim.

Lillehammer Skysstasjon is the main transport terminal for buses, trains and taxis. Nor-Way Bussekspress has services to/from Oslo that run three or four times daily.  
 
To/from the Western Norway and the fjords, buses pass through Lillehammer several times a day. There is also one daily run to/from Bergen

From Lillehammer there are ski buses going to and from Hafjell and Nordseter/Sjusjøen skiing areas.
