This tour takes you to the top of the highest mountain in Scandinavia. Galdhøpiggen is a favourite goal for adults and children all summer. Follow the marked trail from Spiterstulen (a four-hour hike) or join the guided tours from Juvasshytta, crossing the glacier Styggebreen (a three-hour hike).

Climbing path/ladder (via ferrata) to Lomseggen

A suitable day trip for the entire family. Safety equipment for hire at Nissegarden. Places for rest along the route. At the top you have great views of the national parks Jotunheimen, Rondane, Dovrefjell and Reinheimen.

Geopath to the Storbreen Glacier

Path to the front of the Storbreen Glacier in the Leirdalen Valley in Lom. Information board at the bridge across the Leira River. Easy walk in open fields (two hours up). The staff at Fossheim Steinsenter helps you to determine the species of minerals.

Hulderstigen

Hulderstigen is a nature and culture path of about 5,5 kilometres in easy terrain. There are information boards alongside the path. Part of the trail crosses the Stuttgonglia nature reserve. Hulderstigen is signposted from the road rv. 51. The trail is easy for children and is both educational and fun. Also opportunities for fishing.

Bordvassvegen – cultural walk along old irrigation systems

The Jotunheimen region is very dry. Only an old, complicated irrigation system made agriculture possible in the old days. The walk is approximately eight kilometres long and rather easy. Starting point: Norsk Fjellmuseum/Lom Tourist Office.

Aursjøen cultural walk

Signposted cultural/historical path close to Lake Aursjøen in Skjåk. Shows how the old watering system was built up. The walk is approximately six kilometres long.

Tour suggestions by car or bicycle

The Sognefjell Road (rv. 55)
The scenic Sognefjell Road, which is the highest mountain pass in Northern Europe and one of Norway’s national tourist routes, runs between the Sognefjord, the world’s second longest fjord, and Gudbrandsdalen.

The Old Strynefjell Road (rv. 258)
Past stone walls and guard stones. Between Grotli and Videseter, the Old Strynefjell Road twists at one with nature through the Strynefjell pass, just as it did in the beginning of the last century. The narrow road includes a bit of Norwegian road-building history, with gravel and guard stones.

Valdresflya (rv. 51)
Valdresflya provides an endless vista of countless mountains and lakes. The road virtually floats across the mountain plateau. Its highest point is at 1,389 metres above sea level.

Blåhø Mountain (1,617 metres above sea level)
From Blåhø you have a great view to the entire national park area. You can drive your car to the top of the mountain. Follow road signs from Vågå.
